The buyers: advertisers, data brokers, and demagogues—individuals and firms with a keen interest in steering humanity en-masse. Metadata embodies this voyeuristic act of character-profiling into a swirl of floating data points forming a dissected nervous skeletal figure caught in the mundane act of phone-scrolling on the loo.
