ART-ACT Festival
Box Body (2023) was featured as one of the 7 works at the ART-ACT Festival at Singapore Art Week 2023.
// About the Festival: ART-ACT Festival featured audiovisual art pieces from international and emerging artists reflecting on some of the most relevant and pressing topics experienced today globally such as the climate crisis, human rights, and freedom of expression, among others.
The festival featured 7 curated art pieces that were screened in two large LED billboard formats around the city of Singapore, one Ten Square, Landmark of Good at the Selegie Art District, and Media Art Nexus at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
The pieces harness the power of art activism to engage the audience in a journey of critical thinking while creating an aesthetic experience of contemplation. They vary in style and medium of production by mixing performance art, illustration, 3D animation, photography, and videography. Together with the pieces, the artists presented a collection of art manifestos to reinforce their call to action.

Xin Wen and JJ Agcaoili operate as XJ: a Chinese-American and Filipino artistic duo grown out of London, now working internationally. Their award-winning practice reckons with the human subject in collision with the material and digital structures that determine contemporary life. This focus is embodied in their expansive body of work across experimental video, kinetic sculpture, and immersive installation, which has been exhibited in Stockholm, San Francisco, Taiwan, Linz, Singapore, London, and more.
